Evolution and history

1980 - 1990

In 1979 Franco Colombo starts the first soundproofing project: the subject of the intervention was the acoustic insulation of a new corrugated cardboard production line. At the end of the work the pleasure of receiving compliments from the first satisfied customer: Cartiere Paolo Pigna spa The eighties were years of great ferment: in 1982 the changeover from a technical studio to an artisan company took place, in order to favour not only the design but also the production of solutions in the field of applied acoustics so as to personally take care of production in every phase. In 1986 the business moved to a larger area in Galbiate, while increasingly important orders and projects were acquired. In order to grow and constantly improve, a new company structure was decided upon, hence the need to create a new company: SILTE Srl was founded in 1988.

1990 - 2000

By the early 1990s, SILTE had already established itself as one of the most successful companies in the area of soundproofing: high technology and type of service led it to become a direct supplier of anti-noise systems for the most renowned brands and manufacturers in various industries. In 1991 SILTE acquired its first Cad licences: design moved from drafting machines to computers. In 1995, the company increased its production area by acquiring a second department for the assembly and testing of finished products and storage of semi-finished products. It was in this year that the factory in Brivio was opened. In 1998, restructuring and expansion of the Galbiate site began, with work on both the production area and the offices.

2000 - 2020

The new millennium opens with major investments: in 2001, SILTE decides to focus on instrumental innovation, inserting a new Mazak metal laser cutting system in the carpentry department, which also leads to the expansion of the warehouse dedicated to them.

In 2004, 3D parametric modelling became SILTE's heritage, SolidWorks complements more traditional computer-aided design with two-dimensional Cad. In 2005 SILTE launches Sil-block® a new line of patented products for acoustic insulation in homes and acquires a share of the domestic and foreign market in the building sector.

In 2010 Acustiko® was presented, a revolutionary anti-noise panel for mobile barriers on building sites and beyond. In 2011, the integral soundproofing system for heat pumps called UTA-Protect® was tested.

2020 - today

In 2020, a new 300 m2 warehouse is built to cope with the urgent need to expand the production area. In 2022, the acquisition of a plot of land of approximately 2,500 square metres is finalised, making it possible to start the project to expand the production area. In 2023, work begins on doubling the company's production space, and by mid-2024, an additional 1500 square metres of indoor space and 400 square metres of outdoor areas are ready.

The focus on the environment does not stop, we continue to invest in renewable energy and the entire roof of the new factory is equipped with a modern 45 kW photovoltaic system.

On the strength of the successes and experience behind it, SILTE continues to look to the future by investing in continuous innovation, quality and a product ‘tailor-made’ for the customer. This is why we focus on increasingly cutting-edge production and develop projects with high added value, which increase flexibility, the potential of the service and product rendered to the customer and acoustic comfort.
