Why an acoustic barrier?
SILTE's SIL-Noise® Acoustic Barriers are an effective and advanced solution for reducing ambient noise levels in various urban, industrial and residential contexts. SIL-Noise® barriers are designed with the objective of mitigating noise pollution, offering effective noise insulation and creating a quieter and more comfortable environment for anyone who lives, works or spends time near unwanted noise sources.
The SIL-Noise® acoustic barrier is an anti-noise device designed to block, absorb and deflect sound waves, thereby reducing the level of noise transmitted from a sound source to a protected area.
These barriers can be installed along roads, motorways, railways, industrial plants and other areas to reduce the impact of noise on the surrounding environment.
Noise barriers can improve the quality of life and protect against noise pollution.
Features:
- Acoustic Efficiency: SILTE's noise barriers are designed to offer high acoustic insulation efficiency, thanks to the use of high-quality sound-insulating and sound-absorbing materials specially selected for their ability to block and absorb sound waves.
- Customised Design: Every SIL-Noise® acoustic barrier requires a specific design to suit the specific requirements of the context in which it is to be installed, so acoustic as well as structural dimensioning is necessary.
Acoustic dimensioning defines the minimum dimensional requirements of the barrier: height, length and shape, as well as the performance of the panels. For this reason, an adequate technical/acoustic assessment of the noise source by Technicians Competent in Acoustics (T.C.A.) is always recommended.
The structural dimensioning carried out by qualified engineers includes load analysis, seismic and wind thrust verification as well as the design of foundations and anchorages.
- Ease of Installation: Thanks to their modularity and ergonomically optimised design, SIL-Noise® noise barriers can be installed easily and quickly in any environment, minimising downtime and possible interference with surrounding activities.
- Durability and Resistance: built to withstand weather and mechanical stress, SILTE's noise barriers ensure long life with minimal maintenance, guaranteeing reliable and consistent performance over time.
Materials
The SIL-Noise® noise barrier consists of a supporting structure made of vertical HEA posts made of S235JR quality steel, with a welded and reinforced base plate for anchoring to the foundation. The section and shape of the uprights vary depending on the height of the barrier and the characteristics of the installation.
The sound-absorbing panels used in SIL-Noise® barriers have a metal shell available in various thicknesses and colours with the following stratigraphy:
- sound-absorbing side with aluminium sheet metal (or galvanised and painted steel), 6/10 mm thick, suitably shaped and perforated with holes 3 mm in diameter and 5 mm apart (40% perforation percentage)
- solid rear steel sheet, 6/10 mm thick, suitably shaped.
- internal insulation of the panels in mineral wool with a density of 90-100 kg/mc protected on the perforated plate side by black anti-fibre glass tissue.
