Effective Noise Reduction
SIL-C circular dissipative silencers, manufactured by SILTE, are a reliable solution for reducing the noise produced by gaseous fluids along intake, exhaust and air conditioning ducts in both civil and industrial applications. They differ from rectangular baffle silencers essentially for the different shape of the ducts on which they are installed.
SIL-C silencers are characterised by their cylindrical shape and are also produced with an internal ogive.
They are available in different sizes in proportion to the duct diameter:
- Length = 1 D (length equal to 1 times the duct diameter)
- Length = 1.5 D
- Length = 2 D
For more significant noise reductions, several silencers can be installed in series.
SIL-C silencers have unified flanges for easy direct connection to the fan or ducting.
In aggressive industrial environments and under particularly severe conditions, such as at the end of high-temperature gas flues, our silencers can be manufactured with special coatings and a completely stainless steel casing.
With or without spinner: Advantages and Considerations
Let's take a look at the differences and their advantages:
Circular silencers (C series)
SIL-C silencers have a uniform cylindrical shape along their entire length.
They offer effective noise reduction thanks to the internal coating of sound-absorbing material and the perforated protection plate.
Circular silencers with Ogive (C-series with Ogive)
These silencers, called SIL-C with Ogive, have a similar structure to circular silencers, but include an internal sound-absorbing element (ogive) that increases acoustic efficiency.
The concentric sound-absorbing nosepiece improves sound reflection within the silencer, increasing its noise reduction capacity. The nosepiece has aerodynamic appendages at its ends to minimise pressure losses.
Advantages: higher acoustic efficiency than standard cylindrical silencers, ideal for applications where more significant noise reduction is required.
Disadvantages: ogive cylindrical silencers may require additional space compared to standard cylindrical silencers; it is therefore important to assess the available space and the specific requirements of the application. Cylindrical silencers with ogive have a higher cost than standard models due to the additional complexity of their construction.
Ultimately, the choice between simple circular silencers and cylindrical silencers with ogive depends on the specific needs of the application, the space available and the level of noise reduction required.
offer two series with specific characteristics:
C series: cylindrical metal element with an internal coating of sound-absorbing material and perforated protection plate. They provide effective noise reduction with minimal pressure drop without compromising gas flow.
CO series: a cylindrical metal element similar to the previous one, these silencers also include a concentric sound-absorbing ogive, which further increases acoustic efficiency. our silencers can be manufactured with special coatings and a completely stainless steel body.
